Introduction I retired in 2010 from a career in government public affairs, mostly writing, editing, photography and media relations. I spent nearly 21 years on active duty in the Air Force. I had a special duty assignment as airshow coordinator for the USAF Thunderbirds from 1989-91. After retirement I joined and spent 5 years in the Air Force Reserve in Minneapolis and Atlanta areas. During my 15 year civil service career, I worked for the Bureau of Reclamation as a tour guide and later manager at the Hoover Dam Visitor Center, a public affairs officer at the Wright-Patterson Medical Center and US Postal Service in Indianapolis. I finished my career as deputy director of public affairs for 1st Air Force (Air Forces Northern) at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla.
