| Introduction | The goal of this blog is to use journalism as a social organ and service to bring about change in my life and the lives of others. In essence, I want to use journalism as a primary source to engage a public discourse. This blog will help me get a step closer to reaching greatness through writing. As the great Dr. Cornel West says, it's not just enough to be successful but one must reach for greatness. Like Dr. West, I believe there's a difference between success and greatness. Success relates to the "American Dream," accumulating a certain amount of wealth, living in a vanilla suburb and etc. However, to be great is to cut against the grain and think for oneself. Also, one must seek a "habitual vision of greatness," which can be achieved by serving others. I believe journalism is my calling. My vision is to use it to fulfill a greater purpose. This blog will give me opportunities to express my views and opinions on current and historical social issues. Therefore, this communication resource will be used to engage in truth telling.
