GenderFemale
OccupationCareer Development Practitioner...aka a Career Goals Pro-Activist!
LocationWinnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
IntroductionOriginally from the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada, my husband and I moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 2000, where I took my degree in Rhetoric and Communications. Entering the field of Career Development in 2010, I am now an Employment Counsellor/Workshop Facilitator for the Winnipeg Transition Centre (WTC), where I assist unemployed individuals - through workshops and one-on-one counselling - in the development and implementation of an effective job search including resume composition, self-marketing, and career development techniques. I am a Career Pro-activist; I believe we can all be like dandelions! Cheeky and cheerful-faced, dandelions are never unemployed: they have a well-established support system, know how to network, and they are able to flourish anywhere. Furthermore, they embrace transition. (Has anyone actually seen them turn from petals to puffballs?) My Information Technology background - where I was both an agent and a mediator for change - combined with my Communications degree and my Career Development Practitioner certificate allow me to bring a fresh, multi-faceted approach to Employment Counselling.
