| Introduction | Only the few people who know me best understand my love of personal finance. I've been a wine marketer and manager for ten years and during that time have become a certified sommelier and wine judge, traveled throughout Europe and other parts of the world, and worked with fascinating people! So why the seemingly bizarre leap to finance blog and how does it all connect? For one, I work in wine all day and drink it at night, so I need a distraction! And two, in business school I concentrated in finance to improve my "weakest link" and in the process, discovered a new interest. For awhile, I considered leaving wine for financial services, but instead started a wine marketing and management consulting company to blend my professional background and new financial capabilities. I'll eventually study for the CFP exam. Awhile back I investigated Ph.D. programs and realized I'd have to revisit calculus and start econometrics, so that's not likely. I believe personal finance is best swallowed with wine, so I tend to pair my posts with different varieties. Think of me as the Mary Poppins ("spoon full of...") of the industry! |
