Introduction	I make artists books – this is a genre that uses the book form as a means of expression. I am particularly interested in the idea of creating books for contemplation and how folding can reveal and conceal information. This recent body of work was created whilst thinking about a sense of place and the idea of the natural energy that surrounding us. Created whilst walking in the Suffolk landscape, the books reflect my interest in the seen and the unseen. The threads in this work connect ideas and illustrate a sense of mapping. The work has been exhibited widely in UK, Europe and America and acquired by numerous private and public collections nationally and internationally including – The Bodelian Library, Bibliotheque Nazionale, Florence, Bibliotheque, Paris, The Rijksmuseum, Den Haag, The Victoria and Albert Museum, New York Public Library, and Tate Britain. to purchase any of the bookworks contact Les at lesbicknell@gmail.com
