| Introduction | This following note will be bought to you in the pretentious third person. Carly first discovered her love of performing at age 11, when she took a gamble and auditioned for the school play. Unfortunately for her parents she was determined to follow her love of it into adult life and eventually went to Brunel University where she studied Modern Drama. It was there she learnt about this stuff called 'live art' and pretended she understood what 'post-modern' and 'performativity' meant. Carly decided this was all very interesting and also wanted to delay being a proper grown up, so she is currently embroiled in a Masters in Performance Practices and Research at Central School of Speech and Drama. Her work is focused on the persona within the realm of burlesque and also the representation of the self on stage. Carly is also on the Youth Board at ArtsAdmin and has recently been accepted into the new theatre company at The Roundhouse. She also does other things like eat, sleep and watch rubbish tv. |
