| Introduction | I am the author of 'African Cultural Education and the African Youth in Western Australia: Experimenting with the Ujamaa Circle (2008)' and several other publications. My research interests include Ethnicity and the Arts; Sociology of schooling towards bicultural competence of African migrant descendants; Arts festivals as a context for negotiating cultural identity; and Education for Cultural Inclusivity. I am an experienced secondary school educator; Researcher and Arts Based Education Facilitator/Researcher. My Ph.D. is in the field of Arts Education. My professional interests are: to facilitate training towards intercultural understanding and cultural competence; in particular Arts-Based Educational Research Practices in the context of Citizenship, Social Policy and Transnational Belonging. |
