| Introduction | I am basically a regular guy who is just so incensed that our elected representatives are completely out of touch with reality and think the answer is bigger government, more rules and higher taxes. I don't need or want government to decide what is best for me or to keep taking more of my money to spend on wasteful pet projects that do not work. I simply want government to focus on delivering the best of the basic services - health, a basic welfare safety net, low cost energy, great infrastructure and low taxes that encourage businesses to invest and allow taxpaying citizens to save and manage their lives as they choose. I want politicians to be bold enough to tell the truth and let people know that we cannot continue to expand the welfare and healthcare system costs at the current pace without bankrupting our children's future. I want politicians to focus on honor and integrity before they open their mouths. I want special interest groups to be forced into disclosing their agendas and publishing minutes of meetings with any elected official so ensure that undue influence cannot be offered. |
