Introduction Known primarily as an applique quilter, I have started to make more pieced quilts recently or mixed genre quilts. If I am not foundation piecing I am probably sewing by hand. Sewing and quilting are meditative for me with the process being more important than the product. Most of my quilts are hidden from view on the princess and the pea bed, piled one on top of the other as I finish them. Occasionally I change out the display on the wall but it only holds one at a time.
Interests Cooking, travel, art, reading, gardening, swimming, tutoring.
Favorite Books Anything written by Richard Powers or Ian McEwan. I have recently begun to reread Evelyn Waugh and Thornton Wilder. My lighter reading features Denise Mina, Adrian McCinty.

What's the best time you've ever had licking stamps?

When I was waiting for my wedding 50 years ago, my mother gave me an entire drawer full of "green" stamps. No one remembers these but they used to be given out and then redeemed for goods. Oddly enough, there are still a couple of items that we use daily that we got from green stamps.
