IntroductionJanet Cameron has a BA (Hons) 2.1 with the Open University in literature and philosophy, (1994-96.) Janet holds an MA in Modern Poetry with the University of Kent at Canterbury, (2001-2003) She is a retired lecturer at the University of Kent. She holds a full Cert.Ed in further education (1993) and has lectured for many years in English literature and creative writing. An award-winning writer, and the author of several books, including regional histories and philosophy, numerous articles on history, philosophy, feminism and human rights and short literary fiction, she still writes a monthly magazine column for Writers Forum. She won First Prize for her monologue in the prestigious Clemence Dane Cup, 2007 (Society of Women Writers & Journalists) in the presence of Princess Michael of Kent who asked her for her writing tips. (A scary moment!) The judge was playwright and novelist Simon Brett. During her regular working life, her regional histories and women's magazine writing were fun and helped pay the mortgage, while poetry and philosophy fed her soul.
