About me

Introduction I am a wife. I am a mother. And I am also my own self. (Still figuring out that last bit.) I am a word addict. Anything, a line, a sentence, a poem, a thought, a book, anything that is well written, sends me into transports of joy. Yup. Book addict. My father introduced me to the classics when I was a wee little girl, ooh way back when and I haven't looked back since. Although I am fairly new to them, I love doodling, drawing, painting..... I love the intense focus they afford me. Time seems to come to a stand still and the only thing moving is the impression reflected on the paper as it takes shape one stroke at a time. This blog is a place for me to indulge in my love of words and self-expression. I don't aspire to be a writer or a published poet even (although, I do admit, that would be kinda nice). This is simply a place for me to record all those moments in my life that make me intensely aware of the life that pulses and flows through my veins. Moments that make everyday that extra bit of extraordinary. And I am happy to share them with you. Please do share your thoughts with me too. Thank you so much for stopping by. And do visit again.
Interests Reading, Writing, Painting, Arts and Crafts, basically anything that is creative.
Favorite Movies All the movies based on Jane Austen novels, most super hero movies
Favorite Music From rap to pop to rock to classsical to jazz to devotional to Bollywood. Anything that pleases my ear and moves me. Although, Sting is my all time favourite. I also enjoy Gazhals by Jagjit Singh and Ghulam Ali.
Favorite Books All Jane Austen novels, Moon and Six Pence by Somerset Maugham, Lust for Life by Irving Stone, Citadel by A.J. Cronin, War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy, all novels by James Herriot, Three men in a boat, Bring on the empty horses by David Niven, All Fairy Tales, Twilight, some victorian romance books, Narcissus and Goldmund by Herman Hesse, Acquired Tastes by Peter Mayle..oh the list is endless. I enjoy a good best seller as well as a classic. But I find that the books that really touch my soul are the ones with a lyrical bend to the words. They are simutaneously smooth and complex with a natural flow to the words. Its almost like floating on a meandering lazy river that takes you where it will with its current. But after all that's said and done, a book is a book is a book.
