Introduction This site is dedicated to all who believe that a Very Good Life depends upon our capacity to open our hearts and minds to the goodness which surrounds us- and sharing it. The viewpoint expressed here is that of a traditional woman who believes our most important legacy is what we leave behind in the hearts of others is our most important legacy. Godspeed and Good Fortune to all who enter here.
Interests Anything and everything related to home, family and friends. I adore cooking, gardening, travel, golf. I prefer residential architecture to anything corporate. The stereo is on whenever I'm inside and awake. The song of birds fills the air outside. I could not tell you what means more to me: my personal library or my garden. I love interviewing kind and knowledgable people, but avoid pendantic snobs.
Favorite Movies Lawrence of Arabia, Les Misérables, The Horseman on the Roof, Dances with Wolves, Life is Beautiful, A Beautiful Life, Funny Farm, The Patriot, Brian's Song, From Here to Eternity, How the West Was Won, The Young Victoria, Up, Bella, We are Marshall, and Mel Gibson's Hamlet
Favorite Music I love music with the physical power to lift the emotions, eiher in itself, the lyrics or the intensity of the performance. Pachabel Canon in D is the most beautiful orchestral piece ever written. I will never forget hearing Davis Gaines for the first time, singing the National Anthem on the 4th of July at Anaheim Stadium. And there is brilliant and relatable poetry in America's gift to the world: country music. I never liked it growing up: and now I love it with a convert's passion.
Favorite Books The cookbook that introduced me to the world of travel: Vincent Price's Treasury of Recipes, My first autographed Book: Alex Haley's Roots, "Live a Beautiful Life" by Alexandra Stoddard- the first author I collected for her philosophy of home. "Maloof at 90: An American Woodworker" Gene Sasse's very limited custom release. My first major consultation on book.
