Introduction A year ago, I could easily describe myself. Now that I am a new mama, I am just beginning to become acquainted with who I am becoming. At 24 years old, life has finally become real. Up until now I was just kind of going through the motions, doing what was expected: graduating high school, going to college to pursue a prestigious career as an architect, get knocked up, postpone graduation, and move in with my boyfriend to start a family. Well, after the whole study architecture thing, the whole "life" plan kind of veered off course! My boyfriend and I packed up, and moved from Aspen down the valley to Carbondale to become what the locals (formally ourselves) like to call DVT or downvalley trash. Carbondale, a town where the un-uber-wealthy people can almost afford to live, and raise a family. Eventually, I will finish up my degree, and become a designer. Moms keep telling me that it gets so much easier. I lie to moms that have younger babies than me, too.
Interests cry-offs with my baby girl- I win every time, making inappropriate jokes and then acting perplexed by people's less-than-impressed-completely-offended reactions to said jokes, racking my brain trying to discover a halloween costume that girls can't make sexy...mustard! Nope there goes a bottle of mustard with cleavage that puts my breast-feeding chest to shame, pointing and laughing at ridiculous characters prancing the streets of Aspen until I look down and notice my leaky boobs have soaked through my shirt yet again, and appetizers- at most restaurants the appies are the best thing they offer.
