| Introduction | Geology is my lifelong interest & having done a B.Sc Geoscience with the Open University, I have just completed a M.Sc in Volcanology with a MERIT. I also have a HE Certificate in Natural Science, a HE Diploma in Geoscience & a Degree in Media from Sheffield Hallam Uni. I've done field work in England, Scotland, Cornwall, Tenerife, Madeira, Iceland, Santorini, Nicaragua, & Sicily. Skills and knowledge include Field work, Petrological microscopy, SEM, ArcGIS, Geohazards, Remote sensing, numerical modelling, and Data and image analysis. I've done structural geology field work in Samos, Greece with National & Kapodistrian University of Athens & volunteered with Oxford University Earth Science Department. My volcanological research has looked at the rheology and late stage evolution of the 2001 lava flow on Mt Etna, but I have also looked at spotting lahar hazards with VNIR ASTER images, and done a review of magmatic evolution from the mantle to crust to eruption. I have worked in forensics were I have achieved 2 world firsts, received 3 commendations & have been annually rated as exceeded on 4 occasions. I served 9 years with the British Army Intelligence Corps. |
