| Introduction | Osmo Tapio Raihala (Finnish: Räihälä / Française: Raïhala) is one of the leading Finnish composers of his generation. His music has been performed in nearly two dozen countries on five continents, including the USA, UK, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Russia, Czech Republic, Poland, the Nordic countries, along with many others. Raihala’s oeuvre contains a lot of chamber music works as well as four concertos and a few works for symphony orchestra. His style is approachable even for listeners who are less accustomed to contemporary music. Having originally started as a rock musician, Raihala has in recent years made use of quotations from prog rock and jazz in his music, including themes from John Coltrane, Gentle Giant, Rush and Yes.
