| Introduction | I was born in Fairbanks, grew up in WA, and moved back to Fairbanks for college. I fell in love, both with the place and with my (now) husband, so I stayed. This is a chronicle of my journey trying to eat well and live well on a budget, in a state with one of the highest costs of living. My challenge is to feed the two of us (and assorted friends we have over for dinner, and 2 pets) on less than $100 per week, and to eat as organically and locally as possible. Despite the challenges, we're having tons of fun. Cooking is not a chore in our house! It's definitely a learning process, and I welcome any tips and advice that people have. |
