Introduction	I was born and raised in the Richmond, VA area but moved to Jackson, Mississippi in 1999. My family still lives in Virginia but my husband is from Jackson and his family lives in Mississippi. I like to cook and entertain and am a HUGE craft beer nerd. My husband and I are founding members of Raise Your Pints, a consumer based group that changed the beer laws in Mississippi to allow gourmet beer. We travel for beer and I've had some great meals around the world that I try to duplicate. My mom hates beer but like me, loves to cook. So we are starting this blog together as a way for her to share family recipes and old favorites, for me to share new recipes and Deep South specialties, and for us both to connect across the miles.
