| Introduction | Hola! I'm Laura. I've been teaching Spanish for 18 years! I found a love for Spanish in high school and continued studying in college. After a volunteering for a FLES program, I quickly decided I wanted to pass on my love for Spanish to students and pursued a degree in secondary education. I spent 13 years teaching Spanish at the elementary level in 4 different schools. At each school I had to develop my own curriculum and create my own resources. Quality activities were hard to find! I spent 5 more years teaching Spanish 1 at the middle school level. Again, I had to find and create materials that were relevant and meaningful to engage my students. I began to enhance the curriculum by adding current and relevant topics of conversation. I created simple word searches, crosswords, speaking activities & bingo games in order to make learning fun. Students loved them! I realized that if my students loved these activities, others would too. It is my purpose that in making these resources available to teachers through my TeachersPayTeachers site that students will have fun with Spanish and teachers will have more time to focus on teaching and less time on creating materials. |
