IntroductionNora and James McDowell live on a high, wild hill in the Kootenays of British Columbia. There, as “McDowell's Hilltop Gallery " they create their work. James’ bold, and colourful acrylic paintings are those of an accomplished artist and his metal and wood sculptures are works of whimsy and wonder. Nora creates functional birdhouses of weathered wood and found objects as well as knit and crochet tea cozies that are tiny sculptures on their own, and is learning the art of mixed media jewellery. More of their work can be seen at McDowell's Hilltop Gallery, 1683 37 St., Creston, BC and they can be reached at jnmcdowell@kootenaywireless.com or by phone at 250-428-9391.
