| Introduction | My name is Clara. My name is Italian. It means clear. I don’t know if I grew into my name, or somehow my parents “got me” the minute I was born, but, as I got older, I realized, amazingly, that clarity is at the heart of everything I do. And writing is one of the ways I do it. I write in my journal. I write notes. I write lists. I’ve written stories and poems. I’ve written short pieces and contributed interview questions to a publication I was the production director for. I’ve been writing since I was five and my dad showed me how to write the word “milk” on a small chalkboard he bought me because I was going into kindergarten. The need to dispel muddle runs through my life, mostly through writing, organizing/designing, how and what I feed myself (foods, thoughts, environment), and how I use money. I like things to be beautiful, functional, and to support their intent. I enjoy clearing things out, clearing things off, getting clear, making things clearer...well, you get the idea! |
