IntroductionHi there. I was born near Antwerp, in the Flemish part of Belgium, in 1968. After studying Electronics in Secondary school, a year’s military service, and a few years working as a handyman in a hospital, I joined the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC) in 1993. After my studies in Philosophy and Theology I went to the Fiji Islands in the Pacific for two years. For the first year I worked and lived in a hostel for street kids, and as a part-time hospital chaplain. The second year I helped out in a rural parish called Napuka, far away from cities and luxury. When I returned to Belgium I lived and worked in a deprived neighbourhood, where I devoted part of my time to the homeless and part of my time to the residents of the neighbourhood. In 2002 I took vows for life in the MSC-congregation and was ordained a priest in 2004. As hobbies, I like nothing more than spending time with people. I also enjoy cycling in the countryside, and I love dancing. Ask the people in Fiji!
