Introduction Sandy Cooper, a lifelong resident of Moss Point, Mississippi, is a registered nurse and very active member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Cooper received an Associate degree in nursing from Jackson County Community College and later a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi. She continued working full time as she completed her studies and graduated with honors. She was a long-term employee of Singing River Hospital System, utilizing her nursing skills in the operating room, dialysis center, and infection control department. She served as director of the Artificial Kidney Unit, manager of the Outpatient Surgery Center, and lastly as the Employee Health nurse and Nurse Recruiter. Six months after retiring from Singing River Hospital, Cooper embarked on a new challenge as Allied Health Instructor with the Moss Point School District. No stranger to change and responsibility, she welcomed this great, new journey and opportunity to affect the lives of others as she strives for excellence. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, baking and spending time with her two grandsons.
