| Introduction | When I was almost four years old my family got a kitten and she already had a name. Her mother was called Ginger Ale, and so each of the litter got a drinks name. Our kitten was called Whiskey Soda, but apparently I turned that into Mrs Sobers - and it stuck partly because the irony amused the adults around me. Maybe one day I'll use my real name here. There are enough hints already that people who know me will pick me out straight away, and I don't mind. But, for now, I'll be Mrs Sobers. Writer, mother-of-teens, wife to the Prof, urban escapee, business owner, dog-lover, big sister, aunty, bread witch, guerilla gardener, former gulper-of-wine.
