Introduction Solving Petroleum Impacts Legislatively (SPIL) is an initiative of the UGA chapter of the Roosevelt Institute. This team of undergraduate researchers has spent the past semester evaluating the impacts of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and creating innovative policy solutions addressing its impact. On this trip, the team will interview stakeholders from the oil spill to incorporate their views into a publication of all the final policies. The Roosevelt Institute is a nonpartisan, nonprofit, student-run think tank. Its mission is to engage college students nationwide to shape the future they wish to inherit by researching and creating progressive policy.
