| Introduction | My lovely children and their partners gave me this blog with my birthday and retirement present and what fun it has been. Here you will find (mostly)cheap and (nearly always)easy recipes that give pleasure. All my years of collecting recipes on scraps of paper,torn out of magazines, written on the fly leaves of proper cookbooks, even some recipes sorted one year long gone into a card box, they have provided those here. There are far too many on the shelves to cook in one lifetime. Any I put in here are favourites or will be tested first. I am not actually that great a cook, too slapdash for fine work and for most of my life in too much of a hurry and often with not quite enough money. But I love food and the sharing of food around a table. |
| Interests | Cooking and collecting recipes, gardening,travelling, writing - and spending time with family and friends - enough to keep me busy now that 'the toad' work no longer squats on my shoulders. Having the time to cook for pleasure again is a real bonus and I love the challenge of this blog. |
