| Introduction | Over half my ancestors are German immigrants, and I live in a county that still has a lot of German customs and ties to 'old country' German sister cities.....but it's also the heart of former French colonial Illinois from the 17th and 18th centuries. As a history major who went on to earn a grad degree in library and information science, I value research, a well-rounded and nuanced understanding of history, and a reliance on critical thinking rather than sloppy soundbytes and AI. My goal with this blog is to document the things I create for fun, however, and I make no claims of being a formal educator (although I'm happy to talk history and historical fashion with other open-minded people for hours!).
