| Introduction | Maya Furukawa is a Middle School English Teacher and was born and raised in Arlington Heights, IL. She has worked as Managing Editor the Beloit Fiction Journal, and has written for various publications; her poetry has appeared in Beloit College's "Pocket Lint" magazine and Harper College's "Point of View" magazine. She has also edited pieces such as Cameron Lovejoy's "Mud Foot." Maya has a MS in Education, with concentrations in Secondary, English, and Special Education, from Johns Hopkins University. Prior to that, she graduated from Beloit College with a BA in Creative Writing and Literary Studies, with minors in Journalism and Japanese. |
