Introduction I have come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element. It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. I possess tremendous power to make life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration; I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis is escalated or de-escalated, and a person is humanized or de-humanized. If we treat people as they are, we make them worse. If we treat people as they ought to be, we help them become what they are capable of becoming. -Goethe
Interests Trying to remember what a guitar feels like. Watching HBO and the Bravo Reality TV with my partner in crime. Eating sushi. Reading gender theory. Obsessively checking my cell phone. Birkenstocks. Politics. Being right. Being right about politics (as in correct, not crazy). Finding good music before my friends do. Telling them that I found it before them. Thinking about how much I hate hipsters. Not cleaning up the kitchen. Winning Wiis. Doing things that make me look cool. Trying not to sell out. In no particular order.

Favorite Books Valencia by Michelle Tea. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. Gender Trouble by Judith Butler. Skipping Towards Gomorrah by Dan Savage. Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris. Against former arguements I have become part of the Harry Potter phenomenon. Seriously. If you claim that you don't like it that obviously means you have not read it.

If you were a pirate, how would you avoid laughing when saying 'poop deck'?

A good question, matey. In my estimation, one of the major perks to becoming a pirate (besides all the booty) would be the permission to say 'poop deck' as much as possible. Therefore, avoidance is not only futile, but irresponsible.
