Introduction	Hello! I'm an expat from America who has settled here in the UK after meeting my wonderful husband (the Brit) in South Africa several years ago. We have made a life here in the East midlands and after recently selling our home - we are now embarking on another adventure together- becoming first time canal boat owners/ liveaboards. Admittedly, neither of us have much experience of the canal boat, but having both grown up on boats and the coastline, we have big dreams of returning to the water. We are hoping that our passion, my brief experience as a deckhand, and our extensive research will make for smooth sailing. ( Or sailing of any description without complete failure) I tend to record our experience here as liveaboard newbies, sharing all of our trials and tribulations, meeting new friends, gaining valuable advice and possibly maybe even making for an interesting read?
