About me

Introduction I'm Scott Jones. My mom and kids (and a few of my friends) think I'm a nationally-recognized food and wine expert. Most folks know me as the Executive Food Editor of Southern Living. I joined the magazine in 1999, and, for what it's worth, am the first man in the magazine's history to work in the Food department. I've been featured on dozens of TV shows, from Cooking With Paula Deen to Food Network Challenge. I left a career in Hollywood to pursue my love of food and wine. In doing so, I completed a Culinary Arts degree at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York (my wife wants me to mention that I graduated with honors). In addition, I have a degree in Magazine Publishing and Journalism from the University of Mississippi, and am the author of the Southern Living Wine Guide and Journal. I call Birmingham, AL home, with his wife, Deanna, and their two daughters, Tallulah and Augusta.
