IntroductionMy name is Paula. I'm a full-time mum and homemaker. I live in Staffordshire with my wonderful husband Mark and our four delightful children Tom (14 years), Lily (13 years), Emma (10 years) and little Alexander (5 years). A cosy home, good books to read, access to the countryside, tea and flowers. A little time for some needlework, a little baking, time to play my piano and my family nearby...that's me happy! Life is good!
InterestsSpending time with my husband and children, reading, writing, playing the piano, sewing (especially hand sewing and embroidery), knitting, cooking and baking for my family, homemaking, Gardening, walking, the countryside, just being outdoors, the list goes on...

Favorite booksI love reading and am addicted to 19th century English Literature, but my all time favourite book is 'David Copperfield' by Charles Dickens (my favourite author). Coming in a close second is 'Lark Rise to Candleford' by Flora Thompson. I've also read the 'Anne of Green Gables' series more times than I can count, which probably tells you all you need to know about my outlook on life! Other favourites include 'Jane Eyre', 'Pride and Predjudice', 'Good Wives', 'The Tenant of Wildfell Hall' and the Discworld novels of Terry Pratchett. I also love 'Sophie's World' by Jostein Gaarder. Gaskell, Austen, Hardy, The Brontes...what can I say, I love the Classics! I love to read about history and science (and the history of science!), but my reading of the latter is somewhat less academic than it was a few years ago (not much call for a doctoral level knowledge of chemistry in my current role!). As a Christian, I also love to read the Bible daily. I love poetry and my favourite poets include Tennyson, Longfellow, Kipling and Charles Causley. I have a weakness for Children's Literature and often turn to it for comfort reading. Basically, if it has print I'll probably read it!
