| Introduction | I am a Vermont native. I live in Burlington where I create both wheel-thrown and hand built pieces. I am a self-taught artist and have been making ceramics on and off for 13 years. I have worked with a number of Vermont potters including: Jules Polk, Joan Watson, Jeremy Ayers, Harold Kaplan, and Claude Lehman. My pottery is a reflection of my interests as a writer, an English as a second language teacher, and a person fascinated with poetry, letter press, and traditional Chinese paper cutting. My work is simple with meaning and handmade with a modern look. My latest work involves white stoneware slabs with black letter pressed words and original paper cut design. This work was most recently shown at the Green Door Studio in Burlington, Vermont. |
