Introduction	I am a learner, a wife, a mother of a large critter family, a professional educator (who fled the classroom), a techie, a social media junkie, a builder, a hiker, a fisherwoman, and friend to many! I left the public school system for many reasons, but the main one is that I believe that learners learn what they want, when they want, and where they want (and not because "it will be on the test"). I started The Flat Homeschool because I envision a special place where homeschool students can come together as a global community of learners using social media to collaborate on and create projects, discuss and debate weighty issues, and be themselves.
