Introduction	I am a poet, author, and film director. I've had 3 solo shows as poet-performer on American nationwide TV (CBS). 8 collections of my poetry are published (the latest Dancing the Impossible). I'm also published in about 100 anthologies, and I've made about 100 broadcasts, as well as many radio features in Britain, north America, and South Africa. I've won prizes in these international poetry competitions : Arvon (twice), Peterloo (twice), and Bridport As a film writer-director, I've made several films for TV, and have been nominated for a BAFTA. I recently completed a 5-film series of documentary films on new world-beating scientific experiments. Interests	I play the piano and organ (classical). I enjoy the theatre (obviously, since I've worked in it.) I work for a charity - Helwel Trust - which sends money to KwaZulu. the country in Africa where I was born. I was a serious competitive middle and long distance runner, but I'm now injured, and have to cycle instead! I love the mountains.
