| Introduction | My name is Conner Currier. I'm an electrical engineer in Oklahoma City. I participated in a few marching percussion ensembles during and after high school including Music City Mystique, Phantom Regiment, Solace Percussion Ensemble, and Pace High School. I started this project in 2011 just so I could have an instrument to practice on. I didn't get very far due to lack of proper tools. After I aged out of Music City Mystique in 2015 I just really wanted to have something to play on for my own enjoyment so I decided to make a vibraphone that's both practical and visually appealing. I started back up on the project in May 2015 and completed the initial build in Feb 2016. I started building the fan and motor system in the summer of 2017 to finally make it a complete vibraphone. It's been a incredible experience utilizing my engineering and musical skills in the same project. |
