Introduction	I was born July 20th 1950, somewhere in Ethelbert Road, Canterbury, Kent, England. After being slapped, fed and given a few days to get over the shock, I was duly transferred to 47 Roper Road, my first home in that same city. My mother and father also lived there, which was nice. The house was previously owned by my great grandmother, who died there in 1948. Sadly, I didn't even get to go to school there. We moved some forty miles away to Tonbridge, in March 1955. By now I had a baby sister too. It was here that I attended Cage Green School, enjoyed the company of some great kids, kissed the girls and started my first book (more or less in that order). In 2003 I finished my first book. It took a mere 45 years to complete. Naturally one or two other things happened in between. I got a degree from the University of Sussex, became a teacher and lived in about thirteen different places in the U.K. and elsewhere. I have lived in Houston since 2004. I have been writing fulltime since then, and it was early in this period that I also developed a serious interest in poetry. I have won or been placed in various poetry competitions and I was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2006.
