| Introduction | As Poet Laureate for the State of Missouri, I have the opportunity to choose a project to advance poetry in the Show-Me State. Camp MoPo, or Camp Missouri Poetry, is the name I've given to my effort to showcase poems from all around Missouri. Eventually, this site will feature recent or new poems from 114 counties and the independent city of Missouri, and these will highlight some of the special places to be found here. I'm also hoping that we can find some fun, some companionship, some creativity and some comfort here, as here in Missouri — and in the larger world — we take on the burden of isolation to combat a global pandemic. I live in Springfield, Missouri, with my husband, Michael Czyzniejewski, and our kids, Keats and Ernie. I am the editor and general manager of The Marshfield Mail newspaper in the Webster County seat. |
