| Introduction | I am a parent living in NY City. I am concerned about the "reform math" program (Everyday Mathematics) taught in my daughter's elementary school (PS110), and across the City and other states in the country. By becoming more involved in my school, I noticed that most parents, teachers and administrators had very little knowledge of mathematics in general, of the deficiencies of the reform math program in particular, and of the readily available alternatives. This blog offers interviews with math experts, mathematicians, executives, educators, math users, parents, etc. Hopefully the information shared will be a catalyst to elevate the debate, inform opinions, and effect change. |
