IntroductionThis blog is a companion to my radio show Retro Red-Eye Express which airs Saturdays from 11pm to 2am on 90.1FM KKFI. I started volunteering with KKFI in November 2001. I'm currently an Active Member as well as a volunteer Programmer/DJ, which means I get to go to meetings and vote in elections and stuff. I produce and host my own show. I also spin my own music and answer my own phones. I'm a crazy multi-tasking chick of the Noughties. What can I say? In July 2002, with several months of volunteer hours under my belt and a stroke of luck, I started programming Retro Red-Eye Express during a 3-hour slot on Thursday nights after midnight. Again, it's a show I do on a volunteer basis. Each week, the show features some of the music I got into in my formative years, which mostly tends towards: New Wave, 80s Alternative, Gothic/Industrial, 90s Electronica, Punk, some 70s Glam Rock, and many current artists whose music is influenced by those genres. Have a band whose music you think fits the format of my show? Please send CDs to: ATTN: Retro Red-Eye Express/Sunshine / c/o KKFI / P O BOX 32250 / Kansas City, MO / 64171-2250

When your science teacher smashed a frozen rose with a hammer, did you warm the petals to bring them back to life?

You know? I really wish it had been a frozen rose w/ a hammer, instead of a formaldehyde drenched frog w/ a scalpel (complete w/ undigested bug).
