My blogs
| Introduction | I have been writing poetry since I was fifteen years old. I grew up in California and Utah and now live in Reston, Virginia where I write poetry, children's books, and continue to make prints and relief sculpture. I studied at the Albert Schweitzer College in Switzerland and received my degree in Studio Art from the University of California at Santa Barbara. My handmade and artist books are in many collections including the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University, the Stanford University Library, and Special Collections at UCSB Library. I worked for a number of years at the Walker Nature Education Center in Reston as an interpretive naturalist. THE DOG OF KNOTS, a middle grade novel I wrote about a little girl living in Haifa at the time of the Yom Kippur War, was a ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Award finalist, was named a "Notable Book for Older Readers" by the Association of Jewish Libraries, and was added to the Israel Connections Book List by the Anti-Defamation League (a bibliography of positive children's books about Israel).
