| Introduction | I grew up in northern Michigan and spent my undergraduate and early work years in the mitten. I studied interior design and business at WMU and started my career in commercial architecture straight out of college. After 4 years of diligent drafting, historic renovation projects, custom furniture design, and multimillion dollar office build-outs, I decided it was time for graduate school. 3 weeks following that decision, I was out of a job, into a new apartment, and exploring a foreign city. Coming to ID at IIT has reawakened my love of design and also reinvigorated my other passions for travel and adventure, learning and exploring. I hope my time at ID will teach me how to successfully communicate the design solutions and directions I constantly try to put into words, help me to properly convince and connect with peers and clients, and expand my potential to cultivate creativity and share its power. |
