Introduction For anyone who has not met me I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself. I am 47 years old and have now been collecting machines for just over 10 years. I live in Adelaide with my wife Lynne and two sons. Lynne is also very interested in old sewing machines although quilting and patchwork come first. It was the desire to have an old sewing machine to go with our old house that prompted to us buy a late 1930's Singer Cabinet machine. Lucky for us it was in almost mint condition. From here, we have steadily collected quite a range of machines, slowly finding the earlier and more desirable machines in the last few years. Our collection now stands at around 70 machines. However, this does not include another dozen or so in the shed still needing parts, restoration or just somewhere to put them. I was a director of ISMACS Australasia Limited for several years (later ISMACS Australasia Inc)& a committee member of the later organisation before becoming President. I have written 6 articles that have been published in ISMACS, Collectables Trader and Carters Collecting Magazine and also appeared on the "ABC Collectors Show" last September as guest speaker.
