| Introduction | My initial comment is that I will live each day as if it were my last, for it may well be. I have lived long enough to look back with thanks to the Lord for all He has given me in time, experience, adventures,etc., from the Great Depression to the present. Married for over half a century; widower, three grown offsprings; lots of travel experience, including foreign countries. Many good memories from my childhood to the present to keep me company all of my remaining days,for which I am insufficiently thankful to God. My blogs will strive to be interesting for you to read and share with others. I am aware that not everyone will appreciate what I write,what I say, how I say it. But I'll try to overcome that. | Favorite movies | I have no modern favorite movies to comment on. There is not one that I have inclination to sit through and give of my time. Films today are all candidates for the garbage heap. |
| Favorite music | BIG Band sounds of the 40's and 50's followed by Rock and Roll from the mid-50's 60's on. Classical, piano, and old Western (e.g. Hank Williams, Hank Snow,Frankie Lane, Patsy Cline,etc.)vocal (quality) artists that can be clearly understood get my attention.Oldest favorite piece of music: Trees..." only God can make a tree." (1930s? after a poem of 1905 by Alfred Joyce Kilmer, hero and Medal of Honor recipient) |
| Favorite books | All non-fiction. No time for games or fiction without sense. Exception: Man without a country deserves everyone's attention to learn how to appreciate what they have when thinking about America. |
