| Favorite Movies | "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, " has justice, love, sex, violence, comedy and "meaning" that is either/both super-dense and/or superficial. that's what i like. oh, and i'm a sucker for sap (s4s). other recent stuff: the interpreter, spanglish, kill bill vols. i & ii. |
| Favorite Music | anything but crappy mega-pop bullshit, and some of that I like too. cat power (of course), lauryn hill, bob dylan, radiohead. if use your imagination you can probably figure out the rest. |
| Favorite Books | i don't actually finish many books these days. writers i like to pretend i'm semi-informed about: various Marxists and post-Marxists (Sartre, Foucault, Marcuse). sci-fi: William Gibson (Count Zero, Mona Lisa Overdrive, Idoru, All Tommorrow's Parties, Pattern Recognition; i think he's getting repetitive though). books/people I'd like to read: Invisible Man, Toni Morrison, James Joyce, Phillip K. Dick, Thomas Pynchon, and lots of brainy academic stuff. |
