Subrabharathi Manian is an engineer by background and works as a Sub-Divisional Engineer with BSNL in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu. He is a creative writer in Tamil who has published 40 books, including 11 novels, 15 short story collections and a travelogue. Best Novel Award of the Tamil Nadu Government. Pinankalin Mugangal (The faces of corpses) won Coimbatore Kasturi Srinivasan award for best novel of 2002-03. His stories have been translated into various regional languages, English and Hungarian. He received the ‘Katha’ Award for best short story from President of India in 1993. He also won the best novelette Air India–Kumudam award , with a trip to UK and European countries. He is the editor of Tamil literary magazine Kanavu since 1986. He has also released two short films.
