QHO/YESS Kenya Project 2010

Introduction	Hi. My name is Shauna Watson, and I am from Toronto, Ontario. This year I am graduating from the Life Sciences Program at Queen’s University, and next year I will be enrolling in the Nursing Program at the University of Toronto. I have been involved with QHO for the past three years in various capacities, as a committee volunteer, peer educator, and this year I am co-directing the Kenya Project. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to go back to Kenya this summer, and help implement our project with YESS. The idea of empowerment through education caught my attention as a worthwhile initiative that I wanted to become involved with. My experiences with QHO have shaped my university career immensely, and I have learned so much from all of the amazing individuals involved with the organization. Throughout the year, we have been working very hard to develop, organize and plan various aspects of project, and I am so excited to see everything materializing, and cannot wait to arrive in Kenya again.
