| Introduction | I am an eight year old, trapped inside the essence of now, considered by many to be a reincarnation of Yul Brynner. I eat, drink, sleep, I even go to the toilet, and sometimes, on occasions, I exist. Also, I can speak fluent Spanish, better in fact than any Spaniard, but please don't test me on this - measuring such a thing can only ever be a measurement of your own interpretation, and for all I know, you could be lying. |

| Favorite movies | Good films, and some bad ones. |
| Favorite music | Silence is perfection; the ascetic ideal. Only very rarely does some genius or other come close to capturing it with sound; here are a few obvious possibilities: J.S.Bach, Rachmaninov, Arvo Pärt, St Hildegaard von Bingen, plain chant, Gregorian chant, Ambrosian chant, Orthodox chant, other chant, early, sacred polyphony. Generally speaking I prefer, Sacred Minimalism, both in its pre- and post- modern manifestations, and I love most music from (and preceding) the, baroque period,... but I also have a love/hate relationship with, opera, (baroque, classical and romantic), and, broadly, an admiration for anything that demonstrates genius or the quest for beauty or the Sacred, e.g., Sakamoto Ryuichi, Britten, Prokofiev, Gorecki, Tavener, etc. |
| Favorite books | Eco, Calvino, (or perhaps I should say, William Weaver, without whom I would have a rather hefty obstacle betwixt myself and these Italian masters). I'm currently reading, Tarjei Park,'s 'The English Mystics'; ,Jorge Luis Borges,' 'Fictions', Slavoj Žižek,'s 'Enjoy Your Symptom!' and ,Phillis Levin,'s (ed.) 'The Penguin book of the Sonnet'. I would love to finally finish Joyce's Ulyses, but then I could no longer say that I haven't quite finished reading Ulyses, in which case I would loose all credibility in my peer group and be subjected to the worst of humiliation. |
