Introduction	A little background about me: I am a Black female from New York City, who is now embarking on a natural hair journey. The reasons I decided to go natural are pretty simple. Breakage, thinning hair, and sore, itchy, dandruff proned scalp throughout the years eventually forced me to re-evaluate whether relaxers were necessary. I decided that they weren't. With much trepidation I decided to rock my natural hair. That's when I had an epiphany- I would never subject my hair to damage again. That I had to learn to LOVE what my God gave me. That I am unique, special, and lovable as I am.
