| Introduction | I’m too nice, I should speak my mind. I’m insecure, I’m messy and have too much pride. I have these flaws I fail to hide. There are as apparent as a soldiers stride. I’m not thankful for all I'm given, yet I know how blessed my life has been. Here I am doubting, and scared. I’m a recreant, and so ill prepared. But every night my lost heart will pray, for an ever courageous spirit. And when I dread that voice is gone, he lifts up my soul to hear it. That voice that tells me I'll be okay. My lantern, whose beams hath guided my way. The one who gives me wisdom, and hope to be his light. He gives me his faith, and the gift of his sight. He grants me his trust and lends me his voice, who gives me the strength to make the right choice. He carries me when my feet crumble from bleeding, and when I am anxious I find rest in his reading. Craddled in arms of mercy when I can no longer stand,as he hushes the thunder with one wave of his hand. My flaws are so many and my wounds run so deep, but he will bare all the sufferrings my heart cannot keep. And though my mind is shallow and this body is frail, I will call upon the LORD, and he will save me without fail. |
