Introduction Bridgette Van Egmond is a contemporary artist that resides in Victoria BC. Originally from a small farming community in Ontario, she moved west in 2008 to pursue fashion design at Pacific Design Academy in Victoria. With the program’s heavy emphasis on illustration, Bridgette discovered her strengths as an artist and began to create vibrant acrylic paintings. In 2010 Bridgette opened a vintage furniture boutique called The Junction, where she refurbishes furniture and sells her artwork with her mother, Ruth, who is also an artist. As well as forming several series of paintings, her professional career led her to design a collection of illustrations for a children’s book by renowned Canadian author, Pat Skene in 2013. Today, she passionately creates paintings that offer a glimpse into some of life’s most precious moments. You can currently view Bridgette's art at The Junction, or at The Blue Fox Cafe in Victoria, BC.
